Oooo, Oooo, Cold, Cold!!!

A laughingly small amount of snow fell early this morning accompanied by a nasty 40mph wind.  Cecil was not impressed, nor were any of his teammates.  
There was a Team Canada Goose meeting and formation practice during which most of the athletes grumbled about the wind and the choppy water (see Extras)  
Undeterred by wind, cold or choppy water, a female Anna hummie guarded her feeder with the intensity of a sword-wielding Samurai, discouraging 5 or 6 interlopers.  My visiting grandson and his wife were sure she was about to freeze to death but she sat on or near her feeder most of the afternoon.  By rights, she should have been frozen solid or blown away in the wind but she was neither.  Amazing little creatures.  I went outside to put peanuts in the feeder and thought I was in the Arctic.  The snow will be gone in a day or two so I guess that's it for winter at the Pacific Northwest Stadium.
