Gita.....

....that is Ex Cyclone Gita, is on the way. Currently sitting out in the Tasman Sea, tonight's the night for landfall.

Steady rain is falling, getting heavier as the day progresses, no wind.....as yet. Flooding on mum's road, footpaths are covered, hope it won't be lapping at her fence and thankful her house is on a rise, she should be fine. 

State of Emergencies have been declared and Air NZ has cancelled all flights out of Wellington. It feels like a long time till early Thursday morning when I fly, so much could happen between now and then.

A very saturated leucadendron from my supposedly summer garden, sagging under the weight of raindrops, the streaks in the background is the driving rain, not a dirty lens :))

My extra: mum's beans all wrapped up, it's supposed to get very windy!
