Late Afternoon
A day exploring Haria. OK, a couple of hours. There was a Supermercado, a little shop selling leather things, a covered market where all four local police were lolling and talking to the fruteria man, a cafe for dos cafe con leche, and of course, César Manrique’s house. For Haría was where the great man lived for his last few years. As you all know. I’d never heard of him till last year but he’s the biggest thing around here.
Back to lounge beside the pool, trying to pretend it was warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt. Later out to eat at La Sociedad bar La Tegala. Not fine dining, but big hearty cooking and best of all, local wine in a carafe. Always gets my vote.
