Arrived safely in Spain - view as sun was setting.

After a long drive from Cornwall to Gatwick and a short flight to Gib and half hour drive to our apartment we are here. We left about 2230 last night. Had a really good journey to Gatwick. Dropped the car off at the parking and shuttle bus to the airport. Got to Gatwick around 0400. Amazingly they allowed us to check in our case even it said the bag drop would be open until 0430. The flight was at 0700.

All very efficient and we even arrived early! I've never been to Gibraltar before. It was really easy walking out airport and the border is right there and then the car hire place was just across the road. We normally fly from Bristol to Malàga but that's an hour and a half drive from our apartment whereas Gib is just thirty minutes away. So a really easy drive. Just a longer drive in the UK.

We bought this apartment exactly a year ago and when we bought it we had a good sea view. Unfortunately over tge summer the sprinkler that feeds the lawn and shrubs below our terrace also watered the bushes on the scrubland outside the compound fence and totally obscured our view. We were told they would be cut down but when we were here last November they were even higher. So it was great to see that they've made a start on them and we now have our sea view back (for now!) As thexsun was setting we could even see the mountains on yhe north African coast!
