Dunnock
or is it a Hedge Sparrow or a Hedge Accentor . Well yes all three depending who you are talking to. Singing a lovely song at RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands Reserve near Neston on the Wirral. My first time visiting there and anywhere more than 15 mins away from home this year.
Lots of interesting birds on the Reserve but photographing them quite a challenge as they were mostly straight into bright low sun. Still I did see a Chiffchaff first Spring migrant? or as the bloke said as I pointed it out to him - it may have been over wintering that Migrating all the way to Africa is so last century!
My highlight was an overhead view of a male Merlin as I had the high ground as it skimmed over the marsh.
Just added one of those into the sun shots - 3 Curlew up with Godwits
