LISTEN

Another day in Denver, another walk in the snow!  A welcome day of exercise, eating well and enjoying the surroundings of a new city.  The walk was particularly enjoyable as we took a Lyft to the entrance to Clear Creek Trail which was covered in snow and walked the 3 miles in 3 inches of snow.  The trail followed a very pretty looking creek as it flowed swiftly by us and made that unmistakeable sound of fast running water.  The unique sound of our boots compressing soft new snow and the many bird sounds were are companion as we walked in this quite winter wonderland.  Listening when in unusual surroundings is all part of the experience and today's word reminded us of this.  Here is a picture of the view - you can just see the distant tall mountain ranges with the snow covered front ranges to the fore.  They had no snow at all when we arrived.  Our dinner was at a very enjoyable restaurant called Mercantile Dining and Provision downtown.  We are hoping to start our journey back tomorrow morning - we'll see!
