The Run......
So how did go?
Well, the first 4 miles went well just under 10 min miles run with comfort... then at around 5 miles i felt pain in my knee starting to creep in... By 6 miles, i was running and then having to walk a little but still keeping my ten min miles ok... upto 9 miles i was still at a pace of 10 min miles.....
Then... i felt like i hit a brick wall at 10 miles. not cardio wise but aching leg muscles, calfs/quads and hamstrings were feeling it and by now i was in lots of pain with my left knee...
I just couldnt run anymore, so i walked the last 3 miles with very small bursts of running because i was desperate to finish... i lost a lot of time over the last 2 miles especially..
BUT i did manage to run the last 100 meters and cross the finish line in a fairly slow time of 2 hours 29 min and 2 seconds...
I was determined to finish and i did.. thank you for all your support ...
ps.. i wont be doing anymore!!! ive had a dodgy knee all my life and when i started training i thought i was over it..... i seems i'm not!!!!!
