the Islay ferry is in James Watt dock Greenock for annual service and certification. The veteran ferry Isle of Arran is partnering Hebridean Isles on the Islay runs to but due to her "technical issues" she cannot berth at Port Askaig only Port Ellen thus causing timetable disruption. Winter is a difficult time for Calmac as its ferries require to visit drydocks around the UK and spare capacity is lacking for some longer routes.
