A quick kiss before dark
After three days of gloom and mizzle, the skies finally cleared just before dusk. The recent bad weather means that I've almost caught up with my email backlog and made good progress with my report, but it was wonderful to get back outside for a yomp round the Rowing Lake. A pair of great crested grebes were displaying in the distance, and this pair of swans put on the briefest of courtship displays before getting back to the important job of dabbling for weed. Song thrushes were loudly proclaiming their territories and both robins and blue-tits were singing.
I'm not sure whether the ten days or so of cold weather that's forecast will put a halt to all this spring activity....
