Happy Birthday!

It's Rachel's birthday today and I can't believe my little girl is 33 years old, where have those years gone?   I remember the day she was born - I had a planned cesarean section because she was breech, and in those days it was a general anaesthetic, and they didn't have the technology to tell you whether you were having a boy or a girl, so I woke up to be told I'd had a baby girl.  She only weighed 5lb 10oz  and had a head of dark hair. I was a young mum and now I have the pleasure of being a young nanny to Scarlett and Violet - I'm a very lucky lady!

As Rach and Scott left for work early, she said she'd wait until tonight to have her birthday presents, but Scarlett has been excited all day!  We picked Rachel up from work at 1pm and went for lunch, and Scarlett happily asked her if she could help blow out the candles on her cake - Rach didn't know she had a cake lol!  She also told her that all her presents had been put on the dining table, thank goodness she didn't let slip what the presents were.

After we'd dropped her back at work, Scarlett and I went for a walk by Sankey Valley canal but it was so cold that we didn't stay our for long.  We then went and picked up the said birthday cake which we had ready for when everyone else got home, but first the girls helped her open her presents.  We lit the candles and had the cake before the girls went to bed, and then we ordered a takeaway.  Even Alexa sang Happy Birthday!

It's been lovely to share her birthday with her, and tomorrow night I'm babysitting so that her and Scott can go out for dinner.
