Wings

Very chilly here today so Mr DA (who had a day off) and I hit the tropical glasshouse at Wisley for the annual butterfly extravaganza.  There's no pleasing some people as I was overheating inside and then way too cold when we went outside again.

Pictured is a South American owl butterfly. The other side of their wings is a very pretty blue/green with black edges but the underside is the clever bit as, to potential predators, they appear to be the eyes of something that would predate them. Isn't nature clever?

Off out into the cold again this evening for a Nepalese.
