Getting his back up

Not that I want to discourage him, but there's something a bit over-keen about doing homework on a Friday. Especially when it's not due until April.

It's some kind of learning profile he has to complete in an online document, and at one point he was convinced he'd lost some of the text he'd typed in.

I suggested cutting and pasting what he wrote and saving it elsewhere, as a back-up.

He sighed and groaned that it would mean twice the work.

No, I pointed out. Losing it all then having to re-type it - that would be twice the work.

He had to admit I was right. But then he found what he thought he'd lost, so he decided he could just ignore me anyway.
