Frederick William Cumberland

A noteworthy historic figure in Canadian history, Cumberland was a engineer, architect, parliamentarian, and railroad manager at the Ontario, Simcoe and Huron Railroad Union Company, later the Northern Railway Company, and other railway and related companies in the mid-to-late 19th Century. One grand edifice of his design is the Cathedral Church of St. James which is a frequent blipfoto subject of mine in recent months.

This bust stands outside the Southshore Community Centre in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The building, built in 1903, was formerly the Master Mechanics Building for the Grand Trunk Railroad.
