Blaen-y-Nant Day 1
I managed to leave home by 7 and had begun my walk up Moel Siabod by 10.30am. But my legs were still tired from yesterday's walk, and with being slightly concerned about whether I'd have enough time to complete the approach to, the ascent/scramble up the ridge and the long walk off, I set off rather too quickly. I got more than two thirds of the way up the scramble but felt that I was going too slowly to be sure of finishing before dark.... so I came down, walking around the other side of the lake for a change. I've done that walk twice before and it's an enjoyable one, but it'll still be there for next time.
The Mynedd MC hut, where we were staying, is approached by a 4 mile long single track road, but luckily I didn't meet anyone coming in the opposite direction after the car park by the lake as there are few passing places along that last section.
