Kateri Tekakwitha

Kateri Tekakwitha is the first Indian in North America to be designated a saint. This statue is outside the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis Assisi in Santa Fe.
The statue of Kateri is among the most photographed images in Santa Fe. It was sculpted by Jemez Pueblo artist Estella Loretto at the request of Archbishop Michael Sheehan and unveiled in 2003.
