Candles

Contemplative mass at St. Mary's. The cathedral was dimmed and filled with candles. 

Monsignor preached on the radiant light of the Transfiguration, and encouraged us to think about our own experiences of the presence of God. His took place at the Pete French Round Barn near Burns, Oregon. No wonder he loves the desert. He spoke of the way we often regard such places as shrines and return to them. 

My shrine is a little cottage in the Professorville neighborhood of Palo Alto.
