Up the Gherkin

A day off work for both of us today but weirdly we ended up travelling into London to more or less the same area we work in anyway. We started by following a walking route around some of the city's alleyways dodging the snow flurries as we went.

Then on to lunch at the top of the Gherkin (one of the more oddly shaped skyscapers in London). The food was fabulous and the views were fantastic. We saw all manner of weather including horizontal snow and bright sunshine, at some points both at the same time!

After lunch, we carried on through the alleyways of the city. Good to learn some history about these little streets. We decided to visit the Bank of England museum on the way past. We held a gold bar worth in excess of £300,000 and learnt much about the history of the bank.

Back home for dinner, a good (but chilly) day.
