Back to Basics

Yesterday I was so intrigued by the birds with blue throats that today I got out my SLR and went back over to the cliffs to take another look. a) it was hella windy and the birds were no happier than I was to be out there, b) they were definitely not doing courtship displays in the face of a storm, and c) I couldn't remember how to use the camera. But don't tell anyone. It's way too embarrassing. So I came home and fooled around in the garden for awhile. I feel only slightly less challenged than before; part of me is still convinced there's something terribly wrong with the camera, or the lens, or the operator. I guess I have a project for the week.
