juvenile White Faced Heron
This is the transformation of our terradactyl(very noisy, squawky, baby heron) into a beautiful young heron with nearly all his wing flight feathers. He still has a fluffy bum, with no tail feathers yet. He had the splint taken off on Sunday which has been replaced with a soft bandage. He is now weightbearing and beginning to "perch" on a rolled up towel. He can still shout, but is growing up. I tube feed him twice a day, and the rest of the time is beginning to feed himself. All this in 3 weeks. Birds have an amazing capacity to heal quickly.
