Old Palace of Hatfield

Visited Hatfield House, a rather beautiful Jacobean mansion and home of the Cecil family since 1611. The guides here were amazing, wonderfully informative.

After lunch we wandered around the grounds. This is the Old Palace, where Elizabeth Tudor was living, under house arrest, when she ascended the throne on 17th November, 1558
