Half Term Bonkers
Completely forgot it was October Break and stupidly headed to soft play to meet friends. With inflated prices and time restrictions in place, we paid £15 for 2 hours play in a ridiculously busy place where we struggled to even find a single seat. Once I'd picked my jaw up off the floor I urged the kids to go play while they could but instead they wanted to hang out with mum and get fed and watered. This involved standing in a queue for 15 minutes and another £10 down at the end of it. It was a fairly disasterous play date so we were glad to be gone.
We stopped off at Loudons for some lunch. Another bad choice as we were the only ones with kids and ours made so much noise, smeared food on the windows and belted out songs at the top of their lungs. Not ideal when people around us are having business lunches. Deep breaths required all round.
We retreated to the familar four walls of our house which turned out to be the best idea we'd had all day. The kids were on good form here and Miss A even gave us all a special 'contemporary' dance performance which had the other kids joining in, rolling around the floor laughing.
I was delighted to find some conkers today, not seen any for years. I'm looking forward to showing the kids how the oldies used to have fun, pre-computers! Also great for ridding spiders from your home, apparently. Tell that to the one with the saddle on its back, that ran across the livingroom floor this evening. Aaarrrrgh!!!!
