We had a few visitors this morning call in for a drink. Georgie was too busy grooming herself to notice the cockatoos just 2ft away from her. When she eventually noticed them, making them fly off I notice some black cockatoos as well in a nearby tree! They really are such lovely birds. The black cockatoos are my favourite - they have a beautiful somewhat croaky call. We are so lucky to have the number of birds here that we do. But I worry for them as their shrubby habitat is being removed through people clearing the undergrowth on their land for fire safety, this being an extreme bush fire zone. We need to strike a balance!
