Killing time- Gatwick Airport

Only when we were in the car en route to Edimburgh airport having got up just after6 am did M reveal how long the wait would be in Gatwick for the connecting flight.
There had been some vague talk of a couple of hours.

Now knowing his tendency to be economical with the truth I demanded to know how long exactly were we going to have to sit it out at Gatwick.
"Five hours."

Hmmmm... This is supposed to be an holiday not an endurance test.
