All About Ben

Instead of trying to sleep I took the dog out for a wander, camera in tow :-) Ben was a very good boy and got a wee treat when we got home. He's now good on most walks we go on as he now knows he'll get one! Haha. The joys of having a "I think with my stomach" Labrador, or should I just say - the joys of having a Labrador? :-)

After 3 years and 1 month of being with us, we can still say Ben is the best thing to ever happen to us. He's 6 in March and a rescue dog. Poor boy spent the first 2 years of his life in a shed being fed once a week and no interactions :-( he's still weary of other (strange) dogs at first and barks (with a waggy tail), unfortunately because of this he never gets to say hello as he calms down after a minute of being near them. Always handy when we come across a dog owner who also understands dogs body language and is patient enough to let Ben calm down and say hello and not the silly owners who think our Ben is viscous! He's never hurt anything apart from spiders and daddy longlegs and loves our cat Ollie hehe.

His "little brother" Chance (Alaskan malamute) lives upstairs and loves him to bits. He's 14 months old and still uses Ben's scruff as a chew toy. Ben is very submissive with puppies and he lets them (literally) walk all over him even when they've grown up.

Apologies for the long rambling post! I did have the title "A Late Night Stroll" but thought I had better change it :-p

So, that it our boy Ben, sook, tart, cat lover and boisterous. Weary, anxious and hyper with a tail as a weapon but we love him and would be totally lost without him :-)

Next week: Ollie hehe
