Frustrations

Time and circumstances conspired against us yesterday and we never set off for Darlington and instead went this morning, setting off just after nine a.m. We stopped in Wetherby to stock up on M&S meals for MIL, only to find it closed because of a power cut (frustration 1) So we set off for the A1 in a blizzard and gales!

It was actually very quiet on the road (just as well as there were only two lanes of three open). However, my water jets froze up despite having neat screen cleaner in the bottle so I had to stop at Leeming services to thaw them (frustration 2).

We went into Darlington M&S to get food and them onto MIL’s house. We phoned the hospital to check what time she was coming home..”Oh, not today, we haven't sorted the care package yet.” So we have basically wasted a day and driven in the bad weather … (frustration 3).

Mrs madwill is seeing social services this afternoon - hopefully they will tell us when to expect her mother home.

In the meantime I am waiting in the car park with a farting dog in the back, having to keep the window open to let fresh (freezing) air in..(frustration 4).
