Red weather alert
...... it must be bad.... they have cancelled the football!!!!
We have had an eventful day. Last October, for his birthday, our grandchildren gave the HG a voucher to do the Glasgow Central Station Tour, which is a tour of the areas under the station and the old Victorian lines. We booked to go today!!!!
We got up and the weather was abysmal..... we would have travelled to the city by train, but they were all cancelled. We went in by bus, and the journey which normally would take 40 minutes or so took just under two hours. We just made it......
The tour was very interesting, and the stories the guide told us were sometimes funny, sometimes very sad. In WW1 the underground areas were used as mortuaries, and the stories from that time were very sad.
Tour over, we had intended to have lunch in town, but thought we had better grab a quick coffee and try for a bus; good job we did as we got one of the last buses going up the hill to our town.
The forecast is grim for overnight and tomorrow so all the schools and colleges are closed.
Ach well, it is Scotland after all!
