SUNSET at the Lybian Sea

We took a ride towards the South Coast of Crete, down from Rethimnon, via Spili and Drimisko on to Moni Preveli, from where we watched this sunset.

Difficult to choose from the many fotos I took; we visited other chapels with gorgeous icons of which various again the hand and painter's brush of Veneri ~  such a treat from my sweetheart to share his passion for the Byzantine heritage with me.

Speeding up with 110 kms p/hr on the Cretan highway on to Rethimnon on a straight stretch luckily, all of a sudden a car emerged up from the bushes right from the road and it took a U-turn at slow speed.... Pulling my brakes and steering around this pickup truck with a stoic driver of age behind the wheel.... He didn't even realise the danger he and we + another from counter side escaped!
