Snow but no snow day

I woke up due to a lightening storm about 4am. The first thing she asked about was the snow, as soon as she woke up. We were both disappointed as none of it amounted to a snow day! Consequently we in fact had to leave home early so that she’d be on time for school. She snowballed, angel-ed, crawled and generally had a jolly good play as much as she possibly could on the way. The field at school wasn’t even covered! they were allowed to play with what was on the playground at breaktime but at lunchtime the decision was taken to keep them all in because of the icy wind. Katie was disappointed about that too although she was pleased to find that the “movie room” was showing Turbo- the school movie selections almost never please my fussy little miss!

No musical theatre tonight- we walked home, gave her tea and did the usual jobs. She did some brilliant work on her newest piano piece and after some wobbles she battled hard to make an effort to play the clarinet B has lent to her. She was sent to bed fairly early though after became clear that was the necessary action!
