Echidna

Echidnas are not cuddly but are very cute native Australian mammals (monotremes, which are egg laying mammals, to be exact).

We don't see a lot of them but I spotted this one just as we were leaving the farm. 
It started to wander off when it saw me and as I got closer it snuggled under a log and played dead.
