I went to see Mr. in the snow, but he was nowhere to be seen... 
The wind was brutal (snow wasn't falling, but was being whipped up), and I very nearly left straight away, but then found Mrs. sheltering in the shallows: she was not rushing her preening, so I suspect that she's abandoned her nest. She's looking a bit bedraggled for her time in the tree...
I only stayed for about 10 minutes before fearing that I'd lose my fingers/face.
