Reluctantly decided the plan to head north had to be abandoned. The motorway was clear - it’s the last 7 or so miles that are the potential issue and it’s not fair on anyone if I slide into a ditch and have to get pulled out when it would have been a completely voluntary journey. I’ll re-visit the idea tomorrow, but it will depend on whether the gritter has been through.
