Giss a kiss

There several gannet colonies around the east cape of New Zealand. Today M and l went out to one, across a farm, past a world famous golf course, over some fairly precipitous road and there were hundreds of Gannets at all stages of life, squawking and squabbling, demanding food and going through the throws of getting ready to fly. The young ones build up their wing strength by flapping a lot, when they finally do launch themselves at about 15 weeks, they fly off to Australia.
These are beautiful, elegant birds, cream with a yellow head which is specially reinforced as they dive at speeds of up to 100 kph
