Ghost Town
With no chance of any of our cars getting out of their snow cocoons to get to work, we attempted a walk early this morning to try and break the cabin fever that we really shouldn’t be feeling!
We’d been up for a couple of hours in any event, trying vainly to make a start on digging out, but we gave up.
The blip is of Glasgow Road in the ‘Shire. It’s a road that is normally jam packed with cars - at all times of the day.
Walking was eerie; felt like we were taking part in a disaster movie. The black and white image captures the bleakness perfectly.
No privatised transport available either, so it has become another (2nd) day off work - unpaid btw- and watching the country grind to a halt is depressing.
The street where we live is compacted with at least 2ft of snow and there is no chance of any vehicle making a move.
Even if a thaw sets in, I predict days yet of more misery. A snowplough is what is required but our side street is, rightly, not a priority.
