A village called Les Sièges
Not a mind-blowing landscape but an ordinary peaceful french village surrounded by hills, in between Burgundy and Champagne and put aside this quite pleasant beverage conjonction, what makes this place extraordinary to me is that it's been my family's village for whole generations of carpenters, factory workers and school teachers and still is, although many of them have passed away a long time ago.
The path this photo was taken from is a path I've been taking walks on since I was old enough to toodle along with my grandmother, hopelessly trying to persuade her that we had gone a long long way already, my feet were aching and how very far away was this church tower down in the glen.
I stood there for a long while with my tripod, waiting for the day light to decrease and chimney smokes to appear, quite pleased with the details of the tiny windows and shutters.
