Self Portrait

Of a very lovely woman whose funeral I attended today.  Jean Emily Smith, 88 years old, missionary, teacher, artist, musician, horticulturist, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker to name but a few of her many facets, loved and inspired by all who came in contact with her and now will be sadly missed, but is at last at peace after a long battle with her illness which she bore with courage to the end.

As you can imagine I am right up there as one of her many fans:    She taught me, tried to teach me, inspired me to paint with her brilliant encouraging ways all topped off with .................  'all you need to do is practise dear'!!
