Snow Drifts

We had a good lot of snow dumped overnight and with the wind blowing it turned into high drifts. The blipfoto shows Mrs BB in the country lane near our house, Machen (South Wales, UK) where the snow had blown about five feet high. We did get past it by crawling and sinking in it! My friend, Oliver who has the farmhouse a bit further on is cut off in both directions. Nearer his house it was impassable even on foot and we had to continue our walk across his fields which were frozen and deep in snow. We bumped into him on his tractor going to feed his sheep; he gets to the main road across his fields. He doesn't clear the roads as the council don't pay him and it leaves him open to claims.

The snow was sleeting as we walked and on getting home we had a good couple of hours where it was severe with the wind again blowing it about.
