Please let things start to get better!

Today was supposed to be a really early start, as the culvert pipes were being delivered to Darnford Moors (and I was taking the photos). But before that could happen, the big crane needed to be on site. But it broke down. And couldn't be fixed. And it came from a very long way away. And it was still snowing....
Eventually the crane was replaced with a bigger one and it eventually turned up at 1.30 pm (6 hours late). It was estimated to take 2 hours to get it set up ready to move the culvert sections from the low loaders to the hole where they needed to go - that's if they managed not to connect with the overhead telephone wire. By 3.30 pm we were ready for the convoy of low loaders with the culverts on to start their journey - and they arrived about 4.30pm (with one of the drivers due to run out of time at 5.30pm).
Another big problem - the wind got up to a dangerous speed and the crane drivers said they couldn't go ahead as it was twice their maximum speed.
Eventually at 5.30pm it was decided to park everything up and for the drivers to stay in their cabs overnight - and start again tomorrow early. Weather permitting.
Oh, and our boiler broke down this morning. British Gas were so busy they switched off their helpline. Luckily my husband eventually worked out what the problem was and fixed it himself.
Goodnight folks, tomorrow's another day.
