Ready

In this weather it takes three times as long as usual to get dressed (three times as many layers) and quite a considerable time to get kitted out in order to venture outdoors. I trudged round to Arclight's gaff to check on the post/plants/windaes etc, whilst Mr H trudged up to the allotment to indulge the starving hordes. Post office in Gt Junction St has closed down, dammit. Had to trudge through Pilrig park to the PO on Leith Walk (A CD to the USA and a woolly bunnet to Belgium, since you ask. And they always do ask, these days....)

I popped into our local micro-supermarket for a couple of items. A young man came out alongside me, exclaiming in amazement "I've never seen the shops so empty!". I smiled at him in a sympathetic way, muttering sotto voce "Just wait until after Brexit, sonny boy"......

I've been reading "The Silk Roads" by Peter Frankopan. It's a brilliant, highly informative book, but I'm getting even more depressed than I was before I started, in blessed ignorance.
