A Gathering of Eagles

There were two mature and three immature Bald Eagles at McIntosh Lake this afternoon.  They were all very active, flying around, catching fish and taking their prizes to one of the small patches of ice in the lake to enjoy them.  They were too far away to get decent shots of them on the ice so I was happy when this beautiful specimen landed in the tree just above where I was standing.  It looks like she forgot to clean her beak after her recent meal. ;-)

I am grateful that I decided to stop at the lake today on my way to the store.  It was a gorgeous day (74 F) and I spent a very happy hour watching the eagles.  It was much better than shopping, which I decided to skip for today!
