Four become Five

This is scary dog. My parents gave me some money to buy a little house warming gift when we moved into our first home. It was just before Cousteau came to us that I spotted this dog in a shop in Christchurch. I was so excited about getting my beautiful puppy, that I blew the lot on this little thing.

Canterbury used to hit the metal pooch with a rolled up newspaper when Cousteau was doing something he shouldn't do. It made quite a noise and Cousteau would look up and give us a chance to help him change to a better behaviour. The metal dog became 'Scary Dog' and Cousteau gave it a wide berth. More recently, he'd learnt to live in harmony with Scary Dog, but it kept its name.

Cousteau's Bluppet thought he might introduce the 3 Amigos to Scary Dog. As you can see, not so scary any more.

I got up this morning very late. I just didn't want to get out of bed. Reels of Cousteau's life kept rolling behind my closed eyes and I could almost imagine he'd be on the floor next to me if I just didn't open them.

Of course, I had to get up and of course, he wasn't there. Breathe in, breathe out. Keep on going.
