A Bath With A View
A recreation of a blip I took four years ago but which now exists only in my book on Egypt - couldn't resist the chance to reintroduce it to my journal today. It's taken from my bathtub in the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan looking across the Nile to the settlements both ancient and modern on Elephantine Island.
A lazy pool side day before we pack for the train back to Cairo this evening.
The extra shows the Nile just after dawn.
Finally, over lunch, we toasted the life and memory of Gillipaw whose funeral and thanksgiving service it was today in Glasgow.
