The Duke Beckons
On a warm but rather drizzly evening the Duke of Wellington beckons to the passers by and hopes to tempt them into his establishment. I am not sure why the connection with the Iron Duke, perhaps it is just in his honour as the saviour of Europe from the clutches of the Dictator.
A busy day in Royal Berkshire, though for much of the day I had emigrated to less royal Surrey where I had a pleasant lunch in good company. The day was largely overcast with drizzle in the evening. On the M25 there was a light mist, though I believe it was sufficient to cause some inconvenience at Heathrow. Luckily, and unusually, the M25 was clear when I was travelling on it.
