SILLY DUCK

This silly duck had forgotten how angry a swan can react, when one comes too near what he/she claims to be her/his oatmeal.
The sky was all day covered with light clouds.
Directly after lunch we descended the hill to feed the ducks in the Weser river. There was one swan around.
I scattered oatmeal flakes on the ice. The swan managed to climb on the ice. And another swan came from the other side of the river sailing and climbed on it too. The ducks came flying, and many came walking down the slope. The nice thing about oatmeal is that the ducks cannot fight about it, like they do with pieces of bread. And it is healthy food for them.
The ducks are lighthearted eaters, they make such funny sounds, a bit like squeaking.
The ducks made a big circle around the swans, but now and then one of them dared to reach out for flakes under the feet of the swans.
And the swan did not tolerate it for a moment. I sometimes was scared that the swan would do the duck real harm. But the ducks could escape eventually from the beak everytime.
