A Good Egg

Just not as good as it used to be.
It used to be part of one of the Mother-in-law's collections ...... eggs.
This one is also a music box and working carousel & snow globe. Unfortunately the globe is a bit 'misty' and the revolving musical aspect to it doesn't keep going as long as it should (due to the top and bottom bit having come apart and having to be stuck back together again but that join not being 100% centralised). 
But I am sure The Cygnet (who is to be its recipient) will love it.

I think we are getting this one -- which opens.

After going shopping I went and broke the ice on the pond ..... again!
However, today I found that 3"- 4" of the water under the ice (about 1/2" thick) is actually icy slush, which you can just about see in this shot. It was very strange.
