Gozitan Funeral

We visited Victoria the capital of Gozo today . We visited the Citadel the amazing fortress city at its centre with excellent museums and took many pictures .... and then we came across this funeral procession. It was led by a brass band , then the priest,  then the close family, then the extended family, then friends, then... Anyway it took a very long time to pass with pauses. It reminded me of funerals where we lived in Rural wales when procession could be  a half mile long from the church to the cemetery before everyone had left the church. Every one at this funeral was wearing black on their Sunday best. Very impressive and very respectful.

We found out after this entry that this was a funeral for a special man ‘ long associated with the brass band’ according to the man who took us to the airport who also happened to be an expert on Brexit!
