Haikography

a whiter shade of pale

This is my haiku for today:

In a ghostly shroud,
is a wistful remembrance.
Trees emerge from the mist.

It was a difficult day. My brother Paul and I travelled up to where our parents lived to try and sort out the burial of Mum's ashes. She died two years ago, but it's only recently I have felt strong enough to face this. Anyway, we found a nice spot and have chosen the stone etc, so at last have set things in motion. I feel better for having done this.

The weather today seemed to echo my mood. It was foggy and ethereal. I drove across the Ashdown Forest on the way there and back and this was where this photo was taken. I have tried to capture my feelings in the haiku ....
... a change of mood from yesterdays exuberance ... but all part of lifes rich tapestry as they say ...
