Our Sabbath

Woke up to a world washed clean by heavy rain and radiant with sunshine (charging up our solar panels) - the road below our building (maybe I should start calling it our home?) a shining path. Mike was up the Land trying to find the leak in the water pipe. Made a pot of tea, drank it in the sunshine, and went off in search of asparagus (before it got picked by someone else).

Breakfast was chocolate croissants, kefir, tangerines and coffee, also sitting in the sunshine. Up the Land, and round the back of the castle to the Eucharist in the main church, so many folk I love there. Walking into town for lunch at Sr Zé's again, a lot of the same folk, love, and laughter, and Dona Nazaré's cooking - and the salad she makes because she knows I like salad.

Walking out with Paul and Julia, sunshine and rainbows and sparkling drops on the flowers strewn across all the fields. Took the keys to the São Sebastião hermitage (in extra; our lower tapada is named after it), so we could assess what needs doing; Deb and Sam are bringing a team after Easter, who are going to whitewash it.

The four of us are now sitting in the house, wood burner lit, on computers or reading books. It just tipped down and Mike made us all hot chocolate. I'll make supper in a bit with the asparagus Paul and I have picked.
