This weekend I visited Lonesome Lake in the White Mountains and stayed at the AMC hut. There is a heated common room and kitchen to prepare food after hiking in the snow. The bunk houses are unheated so carrying a really good sleeping bag is important, along with food, change of clothing, water, first aid kit etc...

This year has been very warm and the lake ice is thin and getting very soft. Took the Lonesome Lake Trail towards the Cannon Balls for some sledding. On the way were some interesting places to cross streams especially when wearing microspikes.
