NZ- Day 23

We drove today to our last stop before the long trip home, we are staying in a lodge in Twizel. It’s near Mount Cook and rather nice and this is the view from our accommodation. It’s dark now and we are listening to the sound of little frogs croaking away. Earlier we saw this mammal swimming across the lake, two ducks became interested, I was taking photos. Then it came ashore and we realised it was injured and was probably a water rat and had come onto land to breathe it’s last, poor ratty.
