Light as a Feather
The coleus I remember from my houseplant days in the '70s were compact, hardy little things, with small dark red and green foliage--guaranteed to grow happily from cuttings and turn the living room into a nursery in no time. Today's plant is its crazy cousin, with huge vibrant leaves that scream out their colors and force me stop dead in my tracks. It looks like someone has splashed paint all over the display. The feather is just a little bonus, sitting there so delicately, tugging at my heart.
